We just want to thank the Kissena Corridor Park Conservancy for publicly supporting our proposed Eastern Queens Greenway. We are delighted to find like-minded community members who support a child-safe route between Flushing Meadow Park and Alley Pond Park. The KCPC has been hard at work creating a new park where one has never existed before. We appreciate their efforts in the community and we are proud to stand with them to make our neighborhood a little better.
The prospect of the development of a corridor conservancy would be instrumental in providing an environmental and recreational vehicle for the citizens of New York City. I remember using as a child the ancient corridor that was built at the turn of the twentieth century that connected Cunningham Park and Alleypond Park. This ancient pathway provided a walkway and bicycle link free of vehicular traffic. The reincorporation of a greenway belt connecting the Queens Parks would be a valuable asset contributing to the health of the local populance and the environment. Such a valuable resource should be pursued.
