We’re proud and appreciative of our most recent endorsement from the Mid-Queens Community Council. As an organization representing multiple community groups, the MQCC is well suited to understand large-scale projects, like family-safe connections among our network of parks. We thank everyone involved for their support and look forward to working with them to improve our neighborhood.

Dear Public Officials, Civic Associations and Community Boards,

The Mid Queens Community Council (MQCC) endorses the Eastern Queens Greenway Association (EQGA) for its proposed continuous bicycle trail through various parks that surround our communities. The founder of EQGA, Dr. Joby Jacob, made his presentation to this Council in June of 2016 and explained the trail as starting from Flushing Meadows-Corona Park which would go through Kissena Corridor Park, Kissena Park and onto Cunningham Park and Alley Pond Park. It would be a perfect diversion for those seeking relief from the pace of urban living and offer a perfectly eco-friendly way of recreation for individuals and families. This would also be a boon to local businesses along the route thereby also raising property values to neighboring homes. Bicycling is a terrific physical activity which promotes health for mind and body. In January a representative from EQGA, Ben Turner, notified our group that the group now has widespread community support and is advocating for the City to design and complete the unfinished sections of the greenway. Please lend your support to this worthy cause.
