Music Bike Ride This Friday!

It looks like we’re finally coming out of a cold, wet spring, just in time for the next cyclists heard music bike ride that’ll by dry and in the low 70’s. Join us this Friday for a casual ride through the streets of Queens.

It’s been wonderful to see the turn-out for these rides. Meeting so many different cyclists in our community is makes this the best part of the month. In a time where so much of life is on a computer (and more often dealing with AI then real people), it’s great to spend time with you on a fun activity in real life.

As always, we’ll be leaving from the middle of Peck Park and slowly head through the neighborhood. The ride might be a little shorter this week, so please try to get there on time.

How to join the ride

  • When: Friday, May 29th at 6:30 PM
  • Where: Middle of Peck Park (Underhill Ave & 188th St)

Also, please head out to one of the Queens Waterfront Greenway meetings over the next 3 weeks. That’s going to be the next great greenway in our area. The Department of Transportation and Parks Department have had a lot of community sessions on this already, and now they’re coming back to the community with a planed route. Come down to support the project and make suggestions on their plan. Unfortunately there is a loud minority of the community against the project so we really need your support to make sure it isn’t watered down. The more we back this project, the more focus they’ll have on building it, and building future greenways.

  • Thursday, May 28 from 6-8pm at Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement
  • Wednesday, June 3 from 6-8pm at Louis Amstrong House Museum
  • Tuesday, June 9 from 6-8pm at Glow Cultural Center
