Joe Michaels Mile and Fort Totten are wonderful places to walk, jog, bike, or even swim (in the public swimming pool).
There is a self lead fitness tour from 9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday between 5/3/2016 and 10/27/2016. It starts at the Fort Totten Gate and goes about 2 miles down the Joe Michaels Mile and back.
Fort Totten is a great spot to get away from the traffic and walk around some wonderful architecture (in differing states of repair). Make sure to check out the Battery on the North West Side.
