Queens Botanical Garden Compost Site

Did you know that the that the Queens Botanical Garden teaches New Yorkers about urban farming, healthy soils and environmental stewardship?  If you want to know more about the entire food life cycle, from sustainable farming to composting, you should jog or cycle over, especially since they are partnering with the NYC Compost Project (funded by  the NYC Department of Sanitation’s Bureau of Recycling and Sustainability).   Sign up here to support the Gardens as you learn, helping with activities like harvesting, planting or composting.  It’s great weather to get your hands a little dirty.  The Queens Botanical Garden is located between Kissena and Flushing Meadows Parks, so you can enjoy traveling through some nature no matter which direction you’re coming from.
